1. When checking for the status of a request or attempting to perform an address change, I can't find my award request on the website?

Please make sure you are using the award request number that begins with an “A” or "D" that is listed at the bottom of your awards notification letter. If you would like to check the status of your request click here. If you would like to perform an address change click here.

2. I did not receive all of my medals?

Our office can only ship the medals that are listed on the packaging slip. If there are additional items you feel you are entitled to, you must reapply at the National Personnel Records Center. Please open ALL the boxes/cases – sometimes we package the smaller items in the larger cases. If there is an item missing that IS listed on the packaging slip, click here to notify us.

3. How can I obtain a display set of medals for my organization?

There is a cost for a display set of medals for military organizations. To obtain permission for a display set, you must provide a written justification and send it to:

COMMANDER
US ARMY HUMAN RESOURCES CMD
ATTN: AHRC-PDP-A
1600 SPEARHEAD DIVISION AVENUE, DEPT 480
FORT KNOX, KY 40122-5408

4. How do I obtain a copy of my award certificates?

The National Personnel Records Center is responsible for the issuance of certificates. You can contact them either by phone at 314-801-0800 or email mprstatus@nara.gov and ask for the status of your certificates.

Please note that certificates are NOT automatically issued with medals. You must specifically request certificates in addition to medals. They are NOT issued from the Philadelphia office and will NOT be included in the package with the medals.

5. Where can I read about my medals?

To see an explanation of medals, pictures and award criteria, please click here.

6. I did not receive my Silver Star or Bronze Star?

Unless the Silver Star is listed as #5 SILVER STAR MEDAL and the Bronze Star is listed as #10 BRONZE STAR MEDAL, it is not the Silver Star or Bronze Star MEDAL but the Silver Service Star or Bronze Service Star which denotes the number of campaigns the veteran participated in to earn the medal that the service star is attached to. These Silver Star and Bronze Stars are small ATTACHMENTS that can be found on the service ribbon and drapes of the other medals.

7. My package was damaged/torn - what do I do?

Please check the packaging slip against the items that you received. If any are missing from the Packaging Slip, click here to notify our customer service team.

8. I did not receive the Vietnam Campaign Medal, only the ribbon?

We do not issue the medal – we only issue the ribbon with the 1960 device. You may purchase the full size medal from a commercial vendor.

9. The web site shows my medals were shipped, however they were sent to the wrong address?
